From the idea to the finished part: tailored product development
The product development service at SPS Safas Plastic Solutions has been established to transform a need or initial idea into a functional plastic component that can be manufactured and optimised from a technical and economic point of view. Thanks to our experience, and working closely with the customer, we are able to design bespoke solutions, designed to fit perfectly into production processes and end use.

Preliminary analysis and feasibility study
Our approach starts with an in-depth analysis of the customer’s needs and the specifications of the product to be made. We assess materials, design, functional use, and production constraints, performing technical and economic feasibility studies to define the best possible solution in terms of cost and performance.

Design and 3D modelling using advanced CAD systems
Using next-generation CAD software, we develop accurate three-dimensional models that form the base for mould design and for the whole injection moulding process. At this stage, we optimise thickness, reinforcement, injection points, and every detail needed to guarantee the manufacturability, aesthetic quality, and resistance of the part.

Co-design and continuous collaboration
Product development is a shared process: we work closely with customers to adapt designs to their operational, aesthetic and production needs. Our technical team provides support in the choice of materials, polymer behaviour analysis and assessment of the final performance of the piece.
Prototyping and preliminary validation
When necessary, we make prototypes and useful pre-series to check the overall dimensions, function and appearance of the product. This phase makes it possible to identify potential optimisations before production of the definitive mould, reducing development times and costs.

Optimisation for injection moulding
Every design is engineered taking the moulding process into account. We look at the parting lines, draft angles, ejection points, thermoregulation, and other essential parameters to guarantee efficient production processes, competitive cycle times, and constant quality over time.
